The Debate About Garage Door Windows

Many homeowners go back and forth about whether to have garage door windows. There are several pros and cons to either choice, but ultimately, it is a personal decision that needs to be the best fit for you. Included below are a few discussion points on why you may or may not want garage door windows.
  •         The Privacy Issue- Some people argue that garage door windows sacrifice your privacy because people can look in to see if there are any cars parked inside, whereas others argue that garage door windows allow you to have more privacy because they provide natural light forthe garage so you don’t have to leave your garage door open during the day.
  •          The Regulation Issue- Some areas, especially those that are likely to experience hurricanes, do not allow homeowners to decide this issue. Local codes may prohibit garage door windows. Some neighborhoods are strict about the uniformity of houses and may also restrict garage door windows.
  •         The Curb Appeal Issue- Most people who choose to have garage door windows do so because of the incredible enhancement they provide to curb appeal. They simply look nice, and for that reason, many people opt to sacrifice some privacy for a better look. However, your garage door may be situated so that it is not facing the front of the house. If that is the case, curb appeal may not play as big of a role for you in deciding to have garage door windows.
All of these points are important to consider as you’re deciding whether to have a garage door windows. Do some research and make the choice that is best for you and your home.
